Fundraising for the Great Daffodil Appeal

image

Every March, thousands of people across the country join together in getting behind the Great Daffodil Appeal. By giving a little bit of time to do something they love, they’re supporting people living with a terminal illness.

You’ll see daffodils everywhere in March – from your local high street to national news. We want you to be part of it. And together, we’ll make sure Marie Curie Nurses are there when families need them most.
Every £20 you raise pays for an hour of care from a Marie Curie Nurse.

£180 pays for one of our nurses to look after someone right through the night.

Whatever you do, however much you raise, you’ll be helping Marie Curie Nurses to support families when they need it most.

Lynn’s story

‘There’s a big swim that takes place in Padstow in North Cornwall and I had always wanted to do something similar. I had a lot of help from the guy who runs this swim. It was easier for us than for a lot of people because we run a water sports business on the beach – so we have our own boats and kayaks.

‘We had just over 60 people in the end. I think the fact it was for Marie Curie was really key. Everyone has heard of the charity and so many people have been affected. The reason I wanted to do it was because my dad had Marie Curie Nurses. I also come from a nursing background myself.’

Lynn organised a one-mile sea swim and raised £10,000.
